Voight on the Goodness of War

Count me among the last to know that actor Jon Voight (Midnight Cowboy, Deliverance, Coming Home…) is an extremist in Hollywood, ranting about the extreme left and how they’ve been programmed…. CNN picked up a clip [warning, clueless ad precedes] of him on an LA talk radio show [KFI 640 AM] but he’s been the darling of conservatives for some time — Michelle Malkin, Libertas, many more…

He’s out promoting his new film, September Dawn, about the Mountain Meadow Massacre in Utah, 1857…while praising the Iraqi massacre of 2003 – 2007 and counting…. He apparently thinks there are parallels between fundamentalist Mormons and all Iraqis….

All praise to his daughter Angelina Jolie who has been visiting Iraqi refugee camps lately….

Words for Acts

Of all the enemies of public liberty, war is perhaps the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies. From these proceed debt and taxes. And armies, debts and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few...No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.

James Madison, 1795
