More Fun with Forecasting VPs
Update: Olberman is guessing Biden…. on the grounds that Mark Warner of VA is giving the keynote on the night of the VP nomination and that Tim Kaine of VA would not follow. Bayh is the other of the three they think are in play. No mention of Clark though Clark’s PAC “Securing America’s Future” is the theme for the night of the VP nomination…
Swopa at Needlenose thinks it will be Jack Reed, RI

So any day now we will know Obama’s (and McCain’s) VP choices. Meanwhile there is plenty of time to prove your prescience or lack thereof.
Just another reason Obama should say no to Bayh as Veep

My pal Greg Sargent caught this from the NY Times:
Mr. Bayh’s support of authorizing force in Iraq stands in sharp contrast to Mr. Obama’s oft-stated view that he showed the good judgment to oppose the conflict from the start. After his vote, Mr. Bayh in early 2003 joined Mr. McCain as an honorary co-chairman of the Committee for the Liberation of Iraq, which made regime change in Iraq its central cause.
“He was not only wrong, he was aggressively wrong,” said Tom Andrews, national director of the Win Without War coalition, referring to Mr. Bayh. “In my view, he would contradict if not undermine the Obama message of change, turning a new page on foreign policy and national security.”
No on Kaine, no on Bayh, no on Hagel, no on Nunn…You know who I like…Do you think it’ll be a pick that has not been discussed by the media so far?
Be sure to see all the o-pinions following the post.
Then there’s this — re Hagel speculation:
After Jim Leach put Sen. Chuck Hagel’s name out there as a potential running mate for Barack Obama, Hagel’s office put out a statement which said that he is not endorsing McCain or Obama.
“Senator Hagel has no intention of getting involved in any of the campaigns and is not planning to endorse either candidate,” Hagel spokesman Jordan Stark said in a statement to USA TODAY. The bigger bombshell is that Hagel won’t even be attending the Republican convention.
