McCain’s Choice: Blame a Woman

So, John McCain, has selected first term Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate. Huh?

This is not a a joke.

Palin, like about 60 percent of Alaska voters, favors drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

She also opposes the listing of the polar bear as an endangered species.

She is under legislative investigation on … the so-called “troopergate” issue, in which she is said to have used improper influence to try to get her sister’s ex-husband fired from the state troopers.

She did curtail state support of the “bridge to nowhere” connecting Ketchikan with its island airport. But contrary to her statement today in Dayton, OH, she didn’t send the federal money back. It’s available for use in other projects elsewhere.

She said during her campaign for governor that she favored students being exposed to all sides of the evolution argument.

She is strongly against … same sex civil marriage.

The Republican chair of the Alaska State House Finance budget subcommittee on Heath and Medicaid says he can’t find anyone in Palin’s executive office who cares about helping bring that budget under control. He is furious with her about that.

These are all from Gregg Erickson
of the Anchorage Daily News and long time Alaska resident.

So, when John McCain gets beat, he can blame a woman

Stand With Haiti

Words for Acts

An avidity to punish is always dangerous to liberty. It leads men to stretch, to misinterpret, and to misapply even the best of laws. He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.
