According to reporting by Thomas Beaumont of the Des Moines Register, the Palin nomination will have some impact in terms of rallying social conservatives to the republican ticket: “I knew she was philosophically very, very strong,” said Steve Scheffler of West Des Moines, president of the Iowa Christian Alliance. “I think it’s a phenomenal choice to mobilize the base.”
