Raids All Over Minneapolis: Feds Involved

Filed under: Presidential 2008 | Republicans — by Will Kirkland @ 7:55 pm

Hurricane Gustav is doing a good job of shutting down the Republican Nominating Convention. Bush and Cheney have sent their regards and McCain has hightailed it to Louisiana with his hoop-earringed running mate to make grand pronouncements about his a-political stunt.

Meanwhile, raids have been conducted all over Minneapolis in search of anyone to the left of Alberto Gonzales. Several sites to follow this.

Jane Hamsher at FireDogLake has videos of a raid.

Much reporting at Campaign Silo, Glenn Greenwald here and here.

Stand With Haiti

Words for Acts

An avidity to punish is always dangerous to liberty. It leads men to stretch, to misinterpret, and to misapply even the best of laws. He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.
