That Palin Banned Books List
Hey friends
That list going around claiming to be the books Sara Palin asked to be banned in the Wasilla public library right after she won the mayorship in 1996 is almost certainly bogus. As her defenders point out, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” wasn’t published in the US until 1998, two years or maybe somewhat less, after Palin took office. According the John Stein, the fellow she defeated, this book banning and other firings etc took place in the first months of her term.
It would be great to get the actual list, if there was one, but the librarian in question isn’t talking yet. Until then it’s a bad idea to circulate false lists and fan the flames of false victimization among those in the wobbly center we need to be bringing to our side.
If anyone can track this down to a real source and it turns out to be authentic, let me know and I’ll apologize all over the internet!
Meanwhile there is plenty of very serious business she should be held accountable for in the public eye.
Running up the public debt.
Falsely implying she sold the state jet on e-bay.
Plenty more at the Palin tags on the blog ( http://www.ruthgroup.org/tag/palin/ ) and especially the widely circulated e-mail posted here on September 2.

The list being circulated is apparently a copy-and-paste of this website:
