Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., has accepted the job of White House Chief of Staff in the Obama Administration, Obama sources tell ABC News.

In other Obamaland news, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., will hold a meeting with economic advisers tomorrow, likely in the morning, after which he will take some questions from reporters.

I hope Emanuel’s well known sharp elbows don’t catch needed allies in the eyes; a few in the ribs of never say die opponents would be a better aim.

And, so now Blagojevich get’s to appoint a Senator and a Representative

Actually, I think Emmanuel will be replaced in a special election, unlike the Senate seat.

Words for Acts

Of all the enemies of public liberty, war is perhaps the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies. From these proceed debt and taxes. And armies, debts and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few...No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.

James Madison, 1795
