Can You Lend a Hand to Red County Candidates?

Filed under: FrontPage | Democracy | California | Democrats — by Guest @ 2:03 pm

Take Back Red California–Volunteer for a Red County Campaign!

This summer, Take Back Red California volunteers will be involved in the fight to take back the U.S. House of Representatives, supporting Democrats running against incumbent Republicans in four districts. But you can start helping progressive candidates and Democratic activists right now by helping out with local down-ticket races that are critical to these rural areas. It’s a great way to start learning about the districts and to meet the local Democratic activists who will be key to the Congressional campaigns.

Can you spend a day canvassing or registering voters? Your participation can make a difference for three outstanding candidates: Jose Flores for Sutter County Supervisor (Yuba City), and Todd Schwenk (Placerville) and Norma Santiago (South Lake Tahoe) for El Dorado County Supervisors. Their bios and issue statements are posted here:

TBRC is organizing carpools of volunteers for these campaigns on three Saturdays:

May 6
May 20
June 3
After an orientation, we’ll walk precincts, register voters, work at tables, or sometimes phone bank. You’ll be paired with a local volunteer. Generally day trips, but overnight stays are possible.

Please contact Mary Renaud, Volunteer Coordinator, at helpwantededitor@takebackredcalifornia.org (or maryre@comcast.net) or call (415) 460-1571 for more information and carpooling from the Bay Area. Details below.

How does it become a man to behave toward this American government today? I answer, that he cannot without disgrace be associated with it.
